We have been in the vacuum cleaner business for close to 20 years now, and we can tell you, without a doubt, with the exception of the different shapes and colors, most vacuum cleaners are made alike and pretty much have the same working parts. We offer tips of the trade and many years of experience regarding what to buy and what will make your hard-earned dollars stretch the farthest.

In general, the heavier the vacuum cleaner, the better it can clean. Your machine must be able to get into the carpet and push the air through it to thoroughly clean. The powerhead and hose assembly on a tank cannister vacuum is a simulation of an upright and generally has less power because the suction has farther to go. However, companies such as Miele have created some of the very best vacuum cleaners in the world as tank canister machines.
